My mother purchased this for my step daughter. Upon receipt of the book, she immediately started reading it. She was literally holding a conversation with the book!!! I love it. She even wrote in the book and everything. I'm elated!!! She just got it today. She started with rule 3. 😯😯😯

I thought the writing was great. The language was simple because of the age group but not "dumbed" down because of their age. It struck a great balance. I think my 13 year old girl will love it and I thought of two people specifically that I want to recommend it to, as well as in general. I was a middle school counselor for eleven years and this book is great for that age group and even into younger high school years, which is the age I work with now. I am looking forward to using this with my own two children and the students I work with. I recommend that parents read it first so you can have a more meaningful conversation with your daughter as she reads it since the topics are mature but appropriate. As a school counselor I always tell parents the best thing you can do is to keep the conversation open with your kids, this book is a great tool to make that happen!
